
Left home after lunch and drove to Orleans, both struggled to keep awake on the motorway. Stopped for the night at the Campanile hotel. Started the Captains log.







And still more gardening. Sorted out the bank at the back of the grange. Strimmed on the well bank. Planted the potatoes and onions. Breakfast: 2 slices of toast and butter, orange juice, yoghurt. Lunch Barties Prawn and spinach curry with 2 tablespoons of rice, yoghurt. Dinner scrambled egg and salad, yoghurt. Weight 64.5
Yet more gardening. Cleared out the riverbank. strimmed behind the bamboos and somehow lost the petrol cap from the strimmer. Took the cherry wood round to John and Maureens in the evening. Breakfast: 1 slice of toast and butter, orange juice, yoghurt. Lunch: half avacado, steamed salmon with courgette, yoghurt. Dinner: smoked salmon and sweetcorn, yoghurt. Weight 64.5
More gardening and general tidying up. Took the bay tree back to the size of a bush. Put in a little box hedge around the herb garden. Went to Barties rehearsal with him. We had to be in Villeneuve de Rouergue for 5.30 for an 8.30 concert so I took along my computer to while away the time. Avoided eating with the choir ! Took a video of Barties performance of the Drunken Poet. Armelle had to sing opposite him as Rosemary is poorly. Doesn;t look as though their son will be able to leave any time soon because of the ash cloud. Breakfast: 1 slice of toast with butter, orange juice and yoghurt. Lunch cod with stuffed mushrooms, yoghurt. Dinner: 2 hard boiled eggs and salad, yoghurt. Weight 64 kilos !
Spent all of the day gardening mainly strimming around the riverbank and the canal. Bartie didn’t have a very good day and took himself off to bed in the afternoon. In the evening he had a rehearsal with Nicoles choir. Breakfast: 1 slice toast with butter, orange juice and yoghurt. Lunch: salmon with courgette and carrot, yoghurt. Dinner 2 scrambled eggs and salad, yoghurt. Weight 65 kilos

Morning in Cassagnes Beghones, repeat prescription, seed potatoes and onion sets and petrol for the mower. Spent the afternoon sitting in the sunshine reading Marie Claire in French. Steve had a rehearsal in the evening and had to take food. The first tart was burnt so there was an emergency dash into La Primaube to buy more pastry and cheese to make a replacement.
